Yoga For Healthy Aging with Nina Rook- A Three Day Intensive Workshop

Everyone would like to age with as much strength and grace as possible and now numerous studies confirm what many yoga practitioners have known for a long time: yoga practice has a remarkable impact on physical and mental health—and spiritual well-being—as you grow older. Shambala Press Learn how yoga can support your physical, mental, and emotional health as you age.

May 11, 6:00pm-8:pm  |  May 12, 12:00pm-5:00pm  |  May 13, 12:00pm-2:00pm

This workshop focuses on preventative strategies, covering:
    • Strength (bone and muscle)
    • Flexibility
    • Balance
    • Agility
    • Stress Management
    • Equanimity

It includes the scientific background that explains how and why yoga works to foster healthy aging, so you’ll understand which techniques to use when. And we’ll review essential yoga poses, sequencing, and other practices that will set you up for a lifetime of practice. The practical asana work and the materials provided make it easy to incorporate your new understanding into every yoga practice and into other aspects of everyday living.

This intensive is designed for people who can stand and move unaided. We will not address using yoga as therapy for specific, individual medical conditions, although there will be some general background.

Nina Rook was in the first graduating class of Yoga for Healthy Aging certified teachers in 2015 and is a contributor to the acclaimed “Yoga for Healthy Aging” blog and recently published book.
